What are leveling wedges?

Leveling wedges are an essential part of a tile leveling system and are used to position tiles accurately at the same height. When used in combination with leveling clips and a leveling pliers, they effectively eliminate lippage and ensure a consistent joint width between all tiles.

How do you use leveling wedges?

Start by applying sufficient adhesive and placing the first tile perfectly level. Insert one or more leveling clips under the tile edges and gently tap the tile into place. Position the next tile onto the base of the leveling clip so both tiles align correctly.

Insert the wedge into the opening of the leveling clip and use a leveling pliers to apply pressure until the tiles are level. Leave the wedges in place while the adhesive cures. Once the adhesive has nearly hardened, remove the clips by breaking them in the direction of the joint using a rubber mallet or your foot.

The leveling wedges and pliers are reusable for future projects.

How many leveling wedges do you need?

The number of leveling wedges required depends on the size of the tiles and the laying pattern. As a general guideline, for 60 × 60 cm tiles, you will need approximately 11 clips and wedges per m².

Unlike leveling clips, wedges are reusable, so you do not need to purchase the same quantity of wedges as clips.
