When do you use 3 mm leveling clips?

3 mm leveling clips are suitable for tiles with a thickness of 6 to 12 mm. The slightly wider joint creates more depth and character, making the tile layout appear more dynamic while also allowing small tile size variations to be absorbed more easily. When used with a wedge separator, they can also be applied for tiles with a thickness of 3 to 6 mm.

How do you use 3 mm leveling clips?

Start by applying sufficient adhesive and placing the first tile perfectly level. Insert one or more leveling clips under the tile edges and gently tap the tile into position. Place the next tile onto the base of the leveling clip so both tiles align correctly.

Insert the wedge into the opening of the leveling clip and use leveling pliers to tighten it until the tiles are level. Leave the wedges in place while the adhesive cures. Once the adhesive has nearly hardened, remove the leveling clip by breaking it in the direction of the joint using a rubber mallet or your foot. The wedges and leveling pliers are reusable for future projects.
