What are leveling caps?

Leveling caps are reusable twist caps that are part of the HELIX leveling system. They are used in combination with tile clips to ensure a perfectly level installation of wall and floor tiles. By tightening the cap onto the clip, controlled pressure is applied between the tiles, preventing lippage and creating a smooth, even surface with minimal effort.

How do you use leveling caps?

Start by applying sufficient adhesive and placing the first tile perfectly level. Insert one or more clips under the tile edges and gently tap the tile into place. Position the next tile onto the base of the clip so both tiles align correctly.

Then screw the leveling cap onto the clip to bring the tiles to the same height. Leave the caps in place while the adhesive cures. Once the adhesive has nearly hardened, remove the clips by breaking them in the direction of the joint using a rubber mallet or your foot.

The leveling caps can be reused for future projects.

Are leveling caps suitable for large tiles?

Leveling caps are ideal for large-format and long tiles, which are more prone to bending or shifting during installation. They provide even pressure distribution across the tile surface and keep everything stable while the adhesive sets.
