What are 2 mm leveling clips?
2 mm leveling clips are designed to create a perfectly level tile surface while maintaining a 2 mm joint width. As part of a tile leveling system, they prevent lippage and ensure precise alignment when used with wedges and leveling pliers. The result is a clean, professional finish.
When do you use 2 mm leveling clips?
These clips are suitable for tiles with a thickness of 6 to 12 mm, or 3 to 6 mm when used with a wedge separator.
A 2 mm joint is the most balanced choice, offering a clean and modern look while still providing a visible and defined joint line. It is widely used for both wall and floor tiles in residential and commercial projects.
How do you use 2 mm leveling clips?
Start by applying sufficient adhesive and placing the first tile perfectly level. Insert one or more clips under the tile edges and gently tap the tile into place. Position the next tile onto the base of the clip so both tiles align correctly.
Insert the wedge into the clip and tighten it using leveling pliers until the tiles are level. Leave the wedges in place while the adhesive cures. Once nearly hardened, remove the clips by breaking them in the direction of the joint using a rubber mallet or your foot.
The wedges and pliers can be reused for future projects.
What are the benefits of 2 mm leveling clips?
2 mm leveling clips allow you to work faster and more accurately, with fewer adjustments during installation. They ensure consistent joint widths and effectively prevent lippage, resulting in a smooth and uniform tile surface.
