Why choose a tile leveling system?

Using a tile leveling system is essential for achieving a perfect professional finish. This is especially true for tiles from 60x60 cm and for wood-look tiles, which are often slightly warped. Without a tile leveling system, small height differences and misalignments can easily result in an uneven tiled surface, which is undesirable both aesthetically and functionally. A proper tile leveling system prevents these issues and ensures a smooth and uniform surface.

What are the different types of tile leveling systems?

At Nivello, we offer a wide range of tile leveling systems, but which system best suits your project?

For large-format tiles and large surfaces, the Levelit tile leveling system is the ideal choice. If you are looking for a leveling system for thicker, heavier tiles such as outdoor tiles, then the XL tile leveling system, similar to Levelit but with higher clips, is perfect.

For small to medium-sized tiles, we recommend the Tiling Buddy tile leveling system. If you are looking for a budget-friendly solution, choose the Prospacer tile leveling system. Finally, for both large and small tiles, and especially for wall tiles, the Helix tile leveling system is the most suitable choice.

How does a tile leveling system work?

Depending on the tile leveling system you choose, the exact usage may vary, although the main steps remain largely the same.

Step 1: Always ensure sufficient adhesive is applied and place the first tile. Make sure the first tile is completely level.

Step 2: Slide the clip(s) under the tile and tap the tile into place. Once the clips are positioned, place the next tile, ensuring it rests on the base of the clip.

Step 3: Insert the wedge through the opening of the clip. Use a leveling plier to push the wedge through the clip with sufficient force until the tile is perfectly level.
TIP: Do not remove the wedge yet.

Step 4: Leave the wedge in place for 24 hours. Once the tile adhesive has fully cured, the clip and wedge can be easily removed using a rubber mallet or your foot.
TIP: Always break in the direction of the joint.

Step 5: Remove the wedges from the clips; they can be reused.
