What are tile spacers?

Tile spacers are small plastic tools used to keep tiles evenly spaced during installation. They ensure a consistent joint width and help align tiles perfectly straight and level. Tile spacers are essential for both wall and floor tiling and contribute to a clean, professional finish.

Which types of tile spacers are available?

Nivello offers different types of tile spacers, each with a specific application.

X spacers are the standard option and are used at the intersection of four tiles. They ensure equal joints in both directions and are ideal for classic tile layouts.

T spacers are used along edges or in staggered patterns where three tiles meet. They make it easier to maintain a consistent joint without unnecessary cutting.

Reusable X spacers provide the same precise alignment as standard spacers but can be easily removed and reused. This makes them both durable and cost-efficient.

How do you use tile spacers?

Place the tile spacers between the tile edges while installing the tiles. This ensures a consistent joint width and keeps the tiles properly aligned. Depending on the pattern, use the spacers in an X or T position so they fit perfectly between the tiles.

Leave the spacers in place until the adhesive has fully cured. Standard spacers remain in the joints, while reusable spacers can be carefully removed after curing before grouting.
